Clifford B. Kinley Trust

The Clifford B. Kinley Trust was established in 1978 to fund research relating to human welfare and was activated in 1991 upon Mrs. Kinley's death. The competition is exclusive to the West Lafayette campus. The Kinley Trust competition is limited to faculty (tenure track/tenured, research) principal investigators (PIs). This endowment was established to fund research which uses a social science perspective to explore methods for improving the human condition.

Ralph W. and Grace M. Showalter Research Trust

The Ralph W. and Grace M. Showalter Trust grants program was established in 1975 to support research in the priority areas of:

  • Environmental research, including air and water pollution research
  • Research in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology
  • Research in the area of disease prevention, diagnosis, progression, treatment and control
  • Research in the area of new technologies for food production, preservation, distribution and safety
  • Research in the area of medical and biophysical instrumentation, including the analysis of large data sets

HHS Undergraduate Research Travel Award

The purpose of this award is to support undergraduate students who have been selected to present or are a co-author of research findings of a presentation at a regional, national or international conference in the dissemination of their research, improvement of their communication skills through the participation in scholarly activity and to continue to stimulate their interest in research activities. The HHS award is open to undergraduate students involved in research under the guidance of faculty in the college of Health and Human Sciences. Each recipient will receive an award to cover up to $500 of travel expenses. The college anticipates funding up to three (3) awards annually.
