Complementarity and contextuality in the spirit of Copenhagen

The aim of this talk it to outline Bohr’s concept of complementarity in the context of Bohr’s epistemology of quantum mechanics. Taking this epistemology into account, I argue, is essential for understanding how complementarity, which can, as a concept, be defined more generally and applies elsewhere, is specifically used by Bohr in quantum mechanics.
