  • Krittikan Chanpaisaeng, PhD student, was one of the winners in the Emerging Leader Poster Competition for the Nutrient-Gene Interaction RIS.
  • Lauren O'Connor, PhD student, won the Emerging Leader Poster Competition for the Aging and Chronic Disease Risk RIS from the American Society for Nutrition (ASN).

  • Jim Fleet, distinguished professor, is the 2017 recipient of the Outstanding Investigator Award from the American Society for Nutrition (ASN) Vitamin and Mineral RIS.
  • Michele Forman, professor and head, is the recipient of the 2017 Pfizer Consumer Healthcare Nutritional Sciences Award supported by Pfizer from the American Society for Nutrition (ASN).
  • Connie Weaver, distinguished professor, is the recipient of the 2017 David Kritchevsky Career Achievement Award in Nutrition supported by Mondelez International from the American Society for Nutrition (ASN).  
  • Lucinda Kurzava, MS student, is the 2017 recipient of the HHS Outstanding Masters Student award.  Her mentor is Barbara Stefanska.

  • Rachel Clark, continuing lecturer, is the recipient of the 2017 Outstanding Dietetics Educator Award in a Coordinated Program in Dietetics for Area 5 (IL, IN, OH, WV, KY, TN) of the Nutrition and Dietetics Educators and Preceptors group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.  The Outstanding Dietetics Educator Award recognizes the teaching, mentoring, and leadership activities of faculty in ACEND-accredited dietetics education programs.

  • Jessica M. Ellis, assistant professor, is the 2016 recipient of the Peter J. Reeds Young Investigator Award from the American Society for Nutrition (ASN).  This award is given for outstanding research in macronutrient metabolism accomplished within 5 years of receiving a Ph.D. degree or completing residency training.
  • Kee-Hong Kim, courtesy associate professor, is the 2016 recipient of the McCormick Science Institute Research Award from the American Society for Nutrition (ASN).  This award is given to an investigator conducting clinical, translational, in vitro and/or ex vivo research, whose scientific-contributions have advanced the understanding of the potential health benefits of culinary herbs and spices. This award is endowed by McCormick Science Institute.
