Nutrition is a modifiable exposure that can influence growth, development, and health.  However, measuring nutritional status is not an easy undertaking.  The focus of research in the Bailey lab is to improve the methods of measuring nutritional status to optimize health.  We focus our efforts on understanding how to use dietary intakes, dietary patterns, and biomarkers of nutritional status to assess how dietary exposure relate to human health across the lifecourse.  Prior to academic life, Dr. Bailey was a Nutritional Epidemiologist and Director of Career Development and Outreach at the Office of Dietary Supplements, Office of Disease Prevention at the National Institutes of Health.
