Biography

Trina received her undergraduate degree from Ball State University in 1994. She obtained a  Master’s degree in Women’s Health from Indiana University in 1999.  She is certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. Trina was a labor and delivery nurse for many years and has participated in several other areas of nursing such as, home health, occupational health, high school health careers program director and hospital educator.  She has a strong interest in study aboard and traveled to Ireland, Haiti and Africa, comparing other health care systems with the United States. Her participation in the African trip was to assist the school of nursing there to implement curricular changes. Trina is actively involved in innovative teaching designs to adapt to the changing needs of our new learners. 

Area(s) of Specialization

Trina Wright, a faculty member since 2006, currently teaches in Maternal Child Health, Integration and Professional Issues and Essentials of Nursing Practice (Capstone).  She previously taught the Senior Leader and Physical Assessment courses.  Trina received the level II teaching award for 3 years while at Purdue.
