Dr Lalani is an experienced researcher, clinician, and educator with diverse background in nursing and health disciplines.  Her experience spans three continents—working in Pakistan, Australia and Canada.  She has contributed extensively in the areas of research, curriculum development, clinical practice and teaching in the last 27 years of her professional career.  Her research interests are in the areas of aging, family caregiving, spirituality, palliative care, nursing empowerment, resilience, and mental health.  Her doctoral research looked at the spiritual experiences of family caregivers caring for their dying family members in the palliative care setting.  Her future research program aims to promote spiritual wellbeing, resilience and quality of life of patients and family caregivers in the palliative care setting. Dr Lalani brings her expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research, mentoring and supervising undergraduate and graduate students.  She has multiple publications in the peer reviewed journals and has conducted extensive research presentations/workshops at the local and international conferences.  She is recipient of several honors and awards from various organizations.
