Biography

Laura has experience as a staff nurse on a medical-surgical unit and as a hospice nurse. She also has experience teaching psychiatric clinical nursing and health communications. Over the past several years, Laura has developed a private practice incorporating both psychotherapy and psychiatric medication management for children and adults. She has received additional training in attachment/bonding, in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, a trauma focused psychotherapy approach), and Immanuel Approach (a trauma focused approach for those who wish to incorporate a faith based approach to psychotherapy).

She is passionate about encouraging and passing on psychiatric nursing skills to the next generation of nurses.

Area(s) of Specialization

  • Psychiatric/Mental health, with particular interest in trauma recovery and assisting families in caring for challenging or special needs children.
