Jan Davis, MSN, CNM, RN

Biography

Professor Davis’s teaching focus is on the provision of evidence-based health care in both the hospital and outpatient setting. As a certified nurse-midwife particular emphasis is on the care of women across the life span.  Students have the opportunity for active learning as they practice with her at the Purdue University sponsored Family Health Clinic of Carroll County. Additionally, Professor Davis teaches introductory courses that focus on the understanding of human pathology and pharmacological interventions.

Recognizing that health care occurs in the context of cultural awareness, Professor Davis has actively encouraged and facilitated Study Abroad classes to Central and South America. Most recently she developed, in conjunction with colleagues at University College Dublin, a Study Abroad course that explores comparative models of health care delivery systems.
