Nursing Center for Family Health - Services

The following services are available for all University students, faculty, staff, retired employees, and their families, and the local community. There are fees for some services. Call (765) 496-0308 for details and an appointment.

Glucose Screening

This test for diabetes takes less than five minutes and includes a finger-stick procedure. Test results are more accurate following an 8-12 hour fasting period, or 2 hours after a meal.

Cholesterol Testing

This is an initial cholesterol screening with HDL, glucose and a calculated risk ratio. Testing includes a height, weight, BMI, blood pressure check, pulse and a health and lifestyles questionnaire. Appointments must be scheduled.  Fasting is recommended for accurate glucose level

Retiree Wellness Screenings

Preventive Health Physicals

Preventive health physicals are performed on eligible students in collaboration with Purdue Student Health Center.  This is available to all students at a cost of $74.00. NCFH functions as a Student United Healthcare Insurance provider and accepts assignment for that insurance, all other insurance carriers are billed separately and fees may apply. These Preventive Health Physicals are only available to Purdue University students and their spouses.

Child Wellness Day

One day a year, usually in October, NCFH participates in a Child Wellness Day.  Immunizations, lead testing, hearing testing, height, weight and educational presentations are available for those that partake.
