Glucose Screening for Staff, Students and Retirees

This test for diabetes takes less than five minutes and includes a finger-stick procedure. Test results are more accurate following an 8 hour fasting period, or 2 hours after a meal. Glucose sticks cost $5.00. Insurance/Medicare not accepted.

Retiree Wellness Screenings

This cholesterol screening is a lipid profile that includes Total Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, glucose and a calculated risk ratio. The visit includes a height, weight, BMI, blood pressure check, pulse and a health and lifestyles review.  Eight hour fasting is recommended for accurate testing results. Retirees are able to have one yearly screening at no cost. Appointments are preferred. Extra screenings throughout the year cost $40.00.

Retire Basice Hearing Screening

This is a basic hearing screening done with an audiometer.  It is free to Purdue retirees and includes a visual ear check.  NCFH can make a referral for further hearing testing if needed. The basic hearing screening can be completed at the same time of the wellness screening but needs to be scheduled.

Retiree Flu Shot Days

Flu shots are free to Purdue retirees and are scheduled three days in September and October. High dose vaccines are usually available for those 65 and older and regular dose is available for those retirees under 65. Days, time and locations for flu shots are advertised on the Purdue University Retiree Association (PURA) website and mailers are sent to retirees. Retirees are also able to have their wellness screening on flu shot days.  No hearing screenings are done on flu shot days. Flu shot are done on a walk in basis.

Preventive Student Health Physical

Preventive health physicals are available to eligible students in collaboration with Purdue Nursing and Purdue Student Health Center. NCFH has a contract with Purdue University Health Center for the Anthem Student Health Plan and bills that insurance. All other insurance carriers are billed separately and fees may apply. These Preventive Health Physicals are only available to Purdue University students and their spouses. If there is no insurance then a cash/check price of $125.00 is charged.
