Purdue launched its Public Health Graduate Program (PHGP) in July, 2014. The goal at the outset was to blend scientific rigor, training in the skills needed by the public health workforce and a passion to help others. Convinced of the merit of this approach, we immediately initiated the process to obtain accreditation with the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). The on-campus and online tracks of the PHGP are now fully functional and I am most pleased to announce that we have just learned that we are fully accredited. The accreditation is predated to October, 2015 and extends to July 1, 2023. The effort required to build the program to its present status has been considerable, but it only serves as motivation to redouble our commitment to train the highest caliber public health professionals and to address local, national and global health needs.
