This program is changing its name to Biomedical Health Sciences (BMHS) effective Fall 2021 in recognition of the STEM and biomedical focus of this major.  Newly admitted students for Fall 2021 to Health Sciences Pre-Professional (HSPP) may continue in HSPP or change to BMHS when they matriculate. Current students interested in changing to this program should consider our new Biomedical Health Sciences (BMHS) major. We encourage current HSPP students to discuss with their HSCI academic advisor if transferring into the new program is beneficial for their education and career goals.

Health Sciences, Pre-Professional

Pre-Medicine Concentration

This program is specifically designed for students interested in attending medical school after graduating from Purdue University. The pre-medicine concentration includes prerequisites for medical school; however, this program also goes beyond the minimum requirements to ensure that students are prepared for the rigors of a professional program across any of the biomedical health sciences.  Examples of courses within the curriculum include general biology, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, calculus, physics, psychology, sociology, and statistics.
