Beyond the Classroom

Study Abroad

Experience the world! As our world becomes more and more connected, international experience is an increasingly important part of an undergraduate education. We have established study abroad programs where students can learn first-hand how health science issues have global impact and different practices and policies used to address them.

Internships and Job Opportunities

Gaining hands-on work experience is crucial for developing skills, knowledge, and marketability in today’s global economy. While we do not have a formal internship program in place, we have established relationships with small and large companies. We have a solid alumni base who continually hire our students for internships. These internships, many times, have turned into full time employment upon graduation.

Undergraduate Research Opportunities

Our dedicated health science undergraduate researchers have presented their award-winning research at local or national scientific conferences. Undergraduate research is a unique way to inspire students, enrich their experience on campus and get in direct contact with our world-class professors. Research experience is prized by graduate schools as well as many employers. Health science students are encouraged to participate in research projects with a faculty member, through a summer internship, or as part of our undergraduate honors program.  For more information about undergraduate research, please visit the College of Health and Human Sciences Undergraduate Research website.
