This course provides an in-depth examination of the technology and procedures involved in planning and conducting various occupational hygiene surveys. The course consists of class lectures, demonstrations, hands-on laboratories, and procedures for both active and passive sampling, using classical as well as direct reading instruments. Specifically, this course covers the sophisticated field and laboratory instrumentation and techniques, sampling methodology for organic vapors, dust, fibers, noise, and heat; calibration and validation techniques; emphasis on critical analysis of data. The course should be valuable to those responsible for conducting industrial hygiene sampling surveys for various agents.
