Dawn Amato

I am a Child Care Aide for the Green Room. I came to the Miller Child Development Laboratory School in February 2022. Prior to coming to MCDLS, I had spent over 20 years working with government funds, reporting and following state and federal policies and procedures.

My past work experience includes working with low-income families as a Case Manager at WorkOne and the Principal's Secretary at Delphi Elementary School. I started working for Purdue University in March of 2020 as a VA School Certifying Official with the Veterans Success Center before landing at MCDLS.

I enjoy working one-on-one with children and watching them learn and grow. I love the idea of assisting our teachers and assistant teachers and supporting them as they provide a fundamental foundation for our children.

My husband Gil and I have three grown children and four grandchildren. I have always been involved in their activities such as being a room parent, PTO member, team mom for their sports and assisting with 4H activities (which mainly included rabbits). We love family game nights and going to zoos. Our house is always full of cats and dogs and love!
