Consumer Sciences Fall 2018 REGISTRATION PROCEDURES

We are open for Fall 2018 Registration Appointments.  Please read through the directions carefully before making your appointment through our online appointment system with your advisor. 

Students must meet with their advisor in order to secure their Fall 2018 Registration PIN number which is required to access registration in MyPurdue.  All advising appointments are handled by classification groups. Later, you will enter your schedule into MyPurdue during your Time-Ticket week (a 5½ day timeframe).  Students who fail to meet with their advisor PRIOR to when their Time-Ticket opens will not be able to enter their schedule until OPEN REGISTRATION beginning April 23, 2018.  Please follow these guidelines and dates very closely:  

STEP #1 ~ Schedule your Required Advisor Meeting

Make your appointment online with your advisor for one of these dates:

PRIORITY (NCAA Athletes, ROTC, Band, PMO, or Honors Students):

February 12 - 23

SENIORS:    You have at least 90 hrs completed towards graduation

February 26 – March 9

JUNIORS:   You have 60 – 89 hrs completed towards graduation

March 19– March 30

SOPHOMORES:   You have 30 – 59 hrs completed towards graduation

April 2 – April 6

FRESHMEN:   You have 0 – 29 hrs. completed towards graduation

April 9 – April 20

STEP #2 ~ Enter your Fall 2018 Schedule into MyPurdue

  • Confirm your Registration TIME-TICKET in under the ACADEMIC tab (Registration Status) and enter your Fall schedule during that this time using the PIN number obtained from your Academic Advising Appointment. 
  • If you miss your Time-Ticket window, you will not be able to enter your schedule into MyPurdue until April 23, 2018h  
  • Review your WORKSHEET on your MyPurdue Plan to ensure all degree requirements are being met. Bring any discrepancies to your advisors’ attention.
  • HINT, Your PIN# stores in MyPurdue! Once you’ve USED your PIN#, it is stored in MyPurdue under “Registration Pin” in the Academic Tab – you don’t need to ask your advisor for it again if you need to make a schedule change!

  • FALL ONLY COURSES (not offered in spring) include:  CSR 10000, 12800, 30900, 40100, 40600, 48100, 48400, 48600 and AGEC 42500.
  • INTERNSHIP SYLLABUS MEETINGS:  Fall Internship & Summer Internship procedures are slightly different.  Please read carefully:
    • SUMMER 2018 interns must attend an Internship Orientation Meeting in the spring (in February or April 2018) in order to gain department approval to add an internship to your summer schedule.  You should attend one of the Spring orientations if you already have an internship secured or if you are planning on securing a summer internship for 2018.

    • ONLINE COURSES are listed in the Schedule of Classes as “Distance Learning”.  HINT ~ to search for these, select ALL of the subjects at once using the shift key (or just the subject you’re interested in) and choose “Distance Learning” under the Schedule Type and hit ENTER.  All online options will come up in alpha-order.  These courses are taught by Purdue professors.
    • Courses listed in the Schedule of Classes as “TLF” instead of “PWL” campus are NOT available to us. 
    • STUDY ABROAD STUDENTS:  Students who are completing FALL 2018 Study Abroad programs will register for an “SA” course number on their spring schedule.  An override in the myPurdue system will be required and distributed by the SA office.  Finalizing the registration steps will be done during each student's one-on-one advising session with your CSR academic advisor.  Students must come prepared to advising appointments by researching the courses they will take at the host institution!  Bring this list of desired courses to your advising meeting. Access the host institutions’ Schedule of Classes or work with the Study Abroad office to find your options.  Select two times as many courses as you expect to take.  Be sure to schedule for at LEAST 40 minutes.
    • MyPurdue WORKSHEET and myPurduePlan:
      • Required:  Use the WORKSHEET in myPurduePlan to verify your degree requirements!   Bring any discrepancies or questions to your advisors attention. This is very important; it is the tool used to audit you for graduation.
      • Map your 8 semester Plan by using the “PLAN” tab in MyPurduePlan. 
      • Show a ‘what-if’ scenario to assist you with CODO decisions
      • Calculate the GPA needed to achieve a specific goal
