Luke Ingersoll

Luke Ingersoll is a second year Ph.D. student in the Division of Consumer Science at Purdue University. His research interests are in difficult medical conversations and ways to improve patient-physician communication.

Under the direction of Dr. Stewart Chang Alexander, Luke leads a group of research assistants in the Health Disparities Research Lab. Currently, the research team is analyzing data from an American Cancer Society grant focused on palliative care consultations between clinicians and hospitalized Stage 3 and 4 cancer patients.

In addition to research, for the last two years, Luke has helped Dr. Stewart Chang Alexander and Kristofer Chang Alexander develop and instruct study abroad programs in New Zealand and Australia.

In 2017, he was honored to receive the Ross Fellowship, an award designed to recruit outstanding Ph.D.-track students.

Luke completed an M.S. degree in Consumer Science from Purdue University in 2016 and a B.A. degree in Sociology with a minor in Portuguese from the University of Utah in 2014.
