Kristofer Chang Alexander

Kristofer Chang Alexander is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Consumer Science in charge of the Apparel Design & Technology concentration.  He received his Master of Science in Consumer Science with an emphasis in Apparel Design and Technology from Purdue University, Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Creighton University as well as receiving his cosmetology license at Capitol School of Hairstyling & Esthetics in Omaha, Nebraska.  Kristofer worked for a couple of years in Omaha before moving to Raleigh, North Carolina to continue working as a hairstylist.  He continued honing his craft and had many opportunities of studying in New York City, Dallas, and Baltimore with some of the most talented hairstylists in the industry.  He also participated in several hairstyling & fashion photo-shoots for publication where some of his work was featured on the cover of several hair magazines on the market.  To extend his interests in style & fashion, Kristofer decided to continue his education at Purdue University in apparel design, fashion, and textiles in Consumer Science.

Along with teaching apparel design courses, Kristofer leads a Spring Break study abroad program in Japan called “Japanese Style” focusing on Japanese fashion, style, and culture.  Furthermore, Kristofer co-leads summer study abroad programs in New Zealand, Australia, Japan, France, and other countries in mainland Europe focusing on intercultural development and cultural competency.
