Sara McComb

Sara A. McComb, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering and holds the Parsons Career Development Professorship in Engineering Management at Texas A&M University. In January 2011, she will become a faculty member at Purdue University with a joint appointment in Nursing and Industrial Engineering. Prior to joining Texas A&M, she served on the faculty of the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She received her B.S.I.E. from GMI Engineering & Management Institute, her M.S.E.S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and her Ph.D. from Purdue University’s School of Industrial Engineering. Dr. McComb’s research interests include examining collaboration, particularly the communication and cognitive processes of teams, and applying systems engineering to healthcare. Her research is funded by the National Science Foundation, the Office of Naval Research, and the Department of Defense, and is published in journals such as the IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Human Factors, and the Journal of Engineering and Technology Management.
