LOADING DOCK return to top
There is no dock, but there are two doors on south side of facility. The doors are 7’8” wide by 10’ tall.
TRAILER AND BUS PARKING return to top
Parking is not available near the loading dock, but can be secured near the facility (within 1/2 mile). Parking area is not secured.
PRODUCTION OFFICE return to top
Production office is located in FOH booth. Phone #: (765-494-3932).
DRESSING ROOMS return to top
There are 2 dressing rooms that can accommodate about 6 performers each. Both dressing rooms have private bathrooms, lighted makeup mirrors, and full length mirrors. Dressing rooms are located one floor upstairs from Stage left.
STAGE SURFACE return to top
The stage floor is wood covered w/ gray battleship linoleum.
ELECTRICAL SERVICE return to top
There is no electrical service tie-in.
MAIN CURTAIN AND SOFT GOODS return to top
The color of the Main Traveler and Olio Curtain is Royal Blue. Guillotine is motor driven but single speed. Main traveler is hand operated. A full set of black masking (3 pair of legs and 3 borders) and a white cyclorama are hung to complete the masking.
HOUSE SOUND return to top
Fowler Hall is equipped with a Mackie SR24-4-2 mixing console which sends to a dbx 481 Drive Rack. Speakers installed in the Hall begin with (3) EAW JFX100 (house left, right and center), supported by 2x15” EAW sub woofer and (8) JBL 3310 surround cabinets mounted on the side and rear walls. These are driven by (2) Crown K2 power amplifiers. Theater surround is processed with (1) Denon AVR381 receiver. Sources located in the FOH booth begin with (2) Denon DNC615 CD playback units, (1) Denon 780R dual cassette record/playback unit,
(1) Sony MDSE10 Mini Disc record/playback unit, (1) Sony SLVD300P DVD/VHS combination, and (1) Phillips 643R01 color monitor located near the mixing console. (2) JBL LSR25P near-field monitors are installed with the console for channel solo or program requirements.
(4) Audio Technica ATWR310 wireless receivers are installed at FOH. (2) AT lavaliere and (2) wireless handheld microphones are available with these receivers. (6) Shure SM58 microphones are also included in the Fowler Hall inventory. (1) Audio Technica AT857QMLa gooseneck low-profile microphone is installed on the available lectern.
Additional signal processing includes (1) dbx 1066 dual-channel compressor/limiter/gate, and (1) PreSonus ACP88 8 channel compressor/limiter/gate.
Each side of the Fowler stage offers an (8) input, (4) send stage box for a total of 16 inputs/8 sends available.
A Listen hearing assist system is installed in the FOH booth with a compliment of receivers available from our guest relations staff by request.

STAGE LIGHTING DESCRIPTION return to top
The facility is equipped with a Strand 520I console with 96 CD80 2.2K Dimmers. Front of house lighting is provided by 8 VL1000 fixtures. A stock stage plot is hung in Fowler Hall and can be manipulated as needed. Please contact us for a plot.
Fixture Inventory: Available upon request. We carry the typical theatrical array of fixtures, including Fresnel, Ellipsoidal, and strip lights.
House Lights: The House Light dimming is controlled from the stage managers panel in the control booth and at the backstage, stage left.
Follow Spots: There is one Lycian short throw follow spot. Additional Lycian spots can be provided.
INTERCOM, PROGRAM, & PAGING SYSTEMS return to top
Intercom: A Clear Com system is hardwired to all commonly used locations (spot booths, Stage Manager, etc.). Base stations capable of addressing both channels are located in the director’s booth and the Stage Managers panel (down stage left). In the event that you require additional stations please inform us in advance and they will be wired and ready for your arrival.
HOUSE VIDEO SERVICES return to top
Fowler Hall is equipped with a EIKI LXs 80 projector (6500 lumens), an Analog Way 6 channel XGA switcher, and a Sony DVD / VHS player.
Internet access can be provided by ITAP via an internet pic stage right.
POLICIES AND REGULATIONS return to top
All the buildings on the campus of Purdue University are non-smoking. Fowler Hall is a non-smoking facility.
USE OF OPEN FLAME, FIREWORKS, & PYRO
The use of any form of combustion/flame during a performance is subject to approval by the Purdue Dept. of Safety and Security. Please contact us in advance so that prior approval can be obtained.
USE OF FLY SYSTEMS
The Technician on duty will at all times be charged with the safe running of the electric and winched systems. If a production element is deemed unfit for hanging or an intended application is deemed unsafe, the technician reserves the right to suspend use of the fly systems until the matter of safety can be resolved.
Fly systems will only be operated by the House Technician or qualified touring personnel.
Minimum Crew Call: At all times during the set, rehearsal, run and strike of a production, a minimum house crew will be present. A minimum house crew consists of:
- One Technician
- One Projectionist as needed
Breaks & Meals: Hall of Music Productions does have work break and meal break policies. Contact the Technical Director or your assigned Event Production manager for more information.
KEYS AND BUILDING ACCESS
Fowler Hall does not issue keys to visiting programs or personnel. During extended or unusual hours, a house staff member will be assigned to provide access to needed areas.
AUDIENCE SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Fowler Hall is required by law to make patrons aware of life threatening conditions that may exist. In the event of life threatening weather conditions or other serious threats to public health, the house staff is prepared to make these announcements.
