Overarching Strategies provide a general framework for the plan’s goal-specific strategies and define the scope of what the department must undertake and implement to achieve the plan’s goals. As the term overarching suggests, these strategies impact everything the department undertakes and expects to achieve. They apply to each of the three goals previously outlined and are the key drivers for a successful department.HUMAN RESOURCES
Our staff is at the very core of all we do and hope to accomplish. They are responsible for providing our customers with outstanding service, maintaining the department’s equipment and, to a degree, many of the aspects of the physical infrastructure of the venues.
Maintaining a professional, well respected and highly-trained staff is vital to the success of our department, therefore we shall invest in staff development and training that identifies the skills required for success in our industry, centering upon interpersonal as well as technical knowledge and skills.
The facilities we operate are critical to our success in meeting our customers’ expectations. As they are all showing increased signs of aging and lack of many of the amenities associated with a modern public assembly facility –especially the Elliott Hall of Music- we will develop a facilities plan that addresses maintenance and upgrade (including but not limited to on-going maintenance functions), ADA compliance, patron and presenter issues as well as necessary facilities upgrades.
PROCESSES AND PROCEDURES
We shall continually review and, where necessary to ensure the highest levels of performance, develop new processes and procedures encompassing the practices associated with the leadership, management, financial control, and marketing of the department.
Production support technology and equipment are a significant component of our business. We will address “equipment and technology issues” including acquisition, inventory control, maintenance, upgrades and replacement.
