Biomolecular Structure and Biophysics

Current Research Interests:

I study how flaviviruses such as dengue virus assemble and rearrange their structure. In particular, I'm interested in the conformational rearrangement of dengue virus that occurs as it matures and exits a cell. I am investigating this transition by locking intermediate states with antibodies and analyzing the structural changes with cryo-electron microscopy. I am also developing vesicle and protein purification schemes to better understand the molecular events that result in virus particle formation.
