Interdisciplinary Engineering Online and On Campus Programs

We are pleased with your interest in our graduate program. Before you continue with the electronic application for admission, we wish to ensure that you are familiar with the minimum requirements for admission to graduate degree study in Interdisciplinary Engineering administered by the Division of Engineering Professional Education. It is important to recognize that although satisfaction of these basic requirements does not guarantee graduate admission, failure to satisfy these requirements may lead to automatic denial of admission.

Master's Degree Program Basic Requirements

  • Undergraduate Cumulative Grade Point Average:
    3.0 or equivalent required
  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE):
    Varies by program

Additional International Applicant Requirements:

  • TOEFL for Non-Native English Speakers:
    Minimum Paper-Based Test (PBT) Score Required: 550
    Minimum Internet-Based Test (IBT) Overall Score Required: 77
    With the following minimum section requirements:
    Reading: 19
    Listening: 14
    Speaking: 18
    Writing: 18
  • IELTS (Academic Module):
    An alternative to the TOEFL, scores of 6.5 or higher will be accepted
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) (Academic Module):
    An alternative to the TOEFL, scores of 58 or higher will be accepted

Engineering Professional Education offers a variety of Interdisciplinary programs. Programs are delivered either on campus or online. Be sure to select the link that fits the program and delivery method that fits your needs. Please select the program you are interested in for application procedures.

Degree-Seeking Applicants (Online)

Interdisciplinary Engineering (MSE/MS)

  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE):
    • Not required

Note: You may also apply to the schools of Aeronautics & Astronautics, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science but still have your courses administered through Engineering Professional Education. You will still select “West Lafayette” as the campus and then for your proposed graduate major, select the specific program that interests you. Each program has different application requirements and deadlines available through the links below:

Dual MSE/MS-MBA Applicants (Online):

  • Applicants for the dual Purdue MSE/MS-MBA program with
    Indiana University Kelley Direct must submit GMAT or GRE scores.

Non Degree Applicants:

  • The only supporting document required is proof of an undergraduate degree by either a copy of an official transcript or by a validated copy of the diploma.
