Master's Degree Additional Program Requirements


  • Cumulative Grade Point Average from most recently conferred undergraduate, graduate, or professional degree:
    • 3.0 or equivalent (A=4.0)
  • Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate program in nursing
  • Current U.S. RN license
  • Physical Assessment course or equivalent
  • Statement of Purpose must include 300-500 words concerning your purpose for undertaking graduate study, your professional plans, career goals related to your chosen area of concentration, scholarly interests, and describe your plans to alter your professional and personal obligations during your time in the graduate program.

Doctoral Degree Additional Program Requirements


  • Cumulative Grade Point Average from most recently conferred undergraduate, graduate, or professional degree:
    • 3.0 or equivalent (A=4.0)
  • Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate program in nursing
  • Current U.S. RN license
  • Successful completion of an introductory statistics course taken within the past five years
  • Physical Assessment course
  • Personal Interview
  • Statement of Purpose must include 300-500 word essay, which addresses your reasons for pursuing the Doctor of Nursing Practice including your reasons for choosing Purdue University Northwest, Hammond campus, your career goals, and practice interests in transforming healthcare through translational science and evidence-based practice.
