Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs Student Advisory Board

The IGPSA is comprised of student representatives from each program affiliated with the OIGP. The IGPSA collaborates across programs both professionally and socially. The IGPSA reps serve as liaisons to the OIGP Administration to assist students in their own programs in strengthening existing resources and in expanding their network. The IGPSA is involved in the planning of the annual Interdisciplinary Spring Reception.

The IGPSA is dedicated to the social justice mission of the OIGP in all of its efforts. This resonates throughout board interactions, decisions, planning, etc. The Graduate School’s Office of Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs (OIGP) at Purdue University promotes equity, respect, and social justice for all graduate students. The OIGP appreciates, celebrates, and promotes a diverse and inclusive environment for all of Purdue University.

Lissa Davis 



Research Interests: Lissa Davis is a second-year PhD student in Nutrition Science at Purdue. Her research group, the SPIT Lab, is interested in the relationship between foods and flavors and saliva, ingestion, and perception. Her current research project is looking at the effect of repeated exposure to bitter flavors on salivary protein levels and subsequent flavor perception.

Yue Qin


Research Interests:  I am finishing up my second-year in interdepartmental nutrition program (INP). Our lab has a focus on community nutrition, population study, and health promotion. My research interests include effects of dietary patterns and lifestyle factors on health measurements; and food security and dietary and health outcomes. 

Yu Wang 


Research interest: Yu Wang is a third-year PhD-level graduate student in the Interdepartmental Nutrition Program (INP) at Purdue University. Yu works as a part-time research assistant with Professor Wayne Campbell. Her research interests focus on effects of protein-rich foods and healthy eating patterns on human health, including body composition, gut microbiome, and cardiovascular disease risk factors.

Research Interests: My research interest is infectious disease. My thesis work focuses on identifying human factors that are necessary for replication of emerging viruses, such as Ebola, Marburgvirus, and Zika virus.

Research Interests: 

I am currently pursuing my PhD with Dr. Jianming Li's at Center for Paralysis Research.  My research focusses on the use of immune modulation therapies after spinal cord injury to selectively recruit M2 macrophages that may improve SCI outcomes. Additionally, I am pursuing Master’s in Public Heath with a major in Health Statistics. Apart from studies, I like to travel, taste different cuisines and most importantly like to do skydiving. I am the treasurer Public Health and President of Golden Key International Honors society.
