Graduate School travel grant applications are open

The Graduate School offers four travel grant opportunities for current West Lafayette residential graduate students. Three of the travel grants were made possible by their named sponsors and have specific travel/program requirements, while the fourth is funded by the Graduate School’s Office of Professional Development. More information on each of these grant opportunities can be found below:

Frederick N. Andrews Environmental Travel Grant

The Frederick N. Andrews Environmental Travel Grant is designed for degree-seeking students enrolled in a graduate program who are researching various means of improving the global environment. This grant includes $1,500 in financial support, and the application deadline is December 12, 2022, by 5:00 p.m.

Russell O. Blosser Environmental Travel Grant

The Russell O. Blosser Environmental Travel Grant is designed to support graduate students majoring in an area of environmental sciences, with preference given to students affiliated with the Chi Chapter of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. This grant includes $1,500 in financial support, and graduate students may receive the Blosser Environmental Grant only once. The application deadline is December 12, 2022, by 5:00 p.m.

A.H. Ismail Interdisciplinary Graduate School Grant 

The A.H. Ismail Interdisciplinary Graduate School Grant is designed to provide travel support for doctoral students in interdisciplinary programs who are presenting their doctoral research at a national or international conference.  Preference is given to students in the College of Health and Human Sciences or with research areas related to kinesiology. Students who have received this award in previous years may apply again, although their applications will be placed at a lower priority than new applicants. The amount of each grant given through this award will be based on the estimated travel expenses that are submitted with your application. The application deadline is December 12, 2022, by 5:00 p.m.  

Graduate Professional Development Travel Grant

The Graduate School’s Office of Professional Development established a new travel grant to reward graduate students who excel in professional development. Each semester, a $250 travel award will be given to the West Lafayette residential grad student(s) attending the most Graduate School professional development workshops. This award must be used for academic or professional development-related travel. There is no application process for this award, and winners will be notified by a representative from the Graduate School’s Office of Professional Development at the end of each semester. Questions pertaining to this award should be directed to profdev@purdue.edu.
