The Graduate School just published its third edition of InnovatED Graduate Research Magazine! The mission of this magazine is to showcase the influential and inspirational graduate research conducted at Purdue University. InnovatED is a popular press piece that challenges Purdue graduate students to communicate complex information to a general, non-specialist audience, thereby developing their research communication skills. To date, InnovatED has been read more than 3,000 times in over 40 countries.

This is an annual publication that features ten graduate students across disciplines. This year’s edition featured students in Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences; Nuclear Engineering; Botany and Plant Pathology; Animal Sciences; Food Science; History; Technology; Environmental and Ecological Engineering; and Chemistry.

In this issue, you will learn how clouds can help us better understand atmospheres on planets outside of our solar system and how self-aware industrial systems can help us combat hackers. Other stories discuss ways to mitigate the influx of dangerous, counterfeit medical supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic and one student’s journey to uncover new, disease-resistant crops that can help feed our ever-growing population.

These are just a few of the amazing research stories shared by Purdue’s graduate students. So, please, check out the most recent edition of InnovatED online at the following link: https://www.purdue.edu/gradschool/professional-development/innovated.php
