David Klenosky is an Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Health and Kinesiology in the College of Health and Human Sciences. He holds a BS in Leisure and Recreation Resources from UMASS-Amherst, an MS in Park, Recreation, and Tourism Resources from Michigan State, and a PhD in Business Administration/Marketing from Penn State. Dr. Klenosky joined the Department of Health and Kinesiology at Purdue in 1995. His research focuses broadly on the study of decision making and place visitation behavior in recreation, tourism, and sports settings; and more specifically on studying and promoting recreation and park visitation behavior in diverse urban/metropolitan settings. His work has been supported by grants funded through the US Forest Service and other national and local agencies; and his research has been published in a variety of outlets including the Journal of Business Research, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Leisure Research, Journal of Park and Recreation Administration, Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Travel Research, Tourism Management, Journal of Sport Management, the Journal of Physical Activity and Health, Landscape and Urban Planning, Urban Forestry and Urban Greening, and Land Use Policy. He is currently an Associate Editor for the Journal of Travel Research.
