Candiss Vibbert works in the Office of the Provost as the liaison to the Indiana Commission for Higher Education (CHE) for the Purdue system. She is responsible for the coordination of CHE activities including the Core Transfer Library and presentation of proposals for new degrees. Special initiatives in the Provost's office include working with the Provost on goals for Purdue West Lafayette colleges/schools and facilitating an annual system-wide summit.

Prior to her work in the Provost's office, Vibbert was an associate director in Discovery Park, where she connected activities in the Purdue Office of Engagement with engagement activities in Discovery Park and the Purdue Research Parks. Earlier, she served as executive assistant for then-President Martin Jischke. Her responsibilities in the Office of the President included coordinating activities and communication, resolving issues and concerns, and managing special projects and internal communication. She has also served as an associate dean in Purdue's Graduate School. She began her Purdue career working with undergraduate students for the Department of Communication. Her career has included teaching and research, and a wide range of administrative responsibilities including academic advising, program and curricula oversight, managing fellowship programs and budgets. She has taught courses for the departments of both Communication and English.

Vibbert holds a Ph.D. degree in Communication Studies from the University of Iowa, and a Bachelor's degree from Indiana University in English Education.
