

Madelina Nuñez is a Doctoral Fellow in American Studies and serves as the President of Purdue Graduate Student Government. Her current research is on halal, or Islamically permissible, Latino food and Latino Muslim culture in the United States. She is a first generation college student and a second generation Cuban-American and is passionate about issues in higher eduation, and the success and support for students and scholars. Before becoming a Boilermaker, she received her M.A. in Latin American and Latino Studies from University of Illinois at Chicago and her B.A. from University of Missouri-Kansas City.
