Mary E. Johnson is a Professor in the School of Aviation and Transportation Technology and co-site director for the Federal Aviation Administration’s Center of Excellence for general aviation research called PEGASAS (Partnership to Enhance General Aviation Safety, Accessibility and Sustainability. Her areas of research are aviation sustainability and safety, and data driven approaches to improving system quality, safety and productivity. She currently serves on the as Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the University Aviation Association. She earned her BS, MS and PhD in Industrial Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington. Prior to joining Purdue in 2007, she worked in complex aircraft manufacturing in the aerospace industry; led research programs and conducted applied enterprise engineering and industrial engineering research at the Automation & Robotics Research Institute, and was an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M Commerce.
