Program Description
The Purdue Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP) aims to enhance diversity in academic, government and industry positions that require graduate degrees. We want to encourage talented undergraduate students in research careers from underrepresented social and economic backgrounds to pursue a graduate education, and to enhance their preparation for graduate study. The program is supported by the Graduate School and various departments/schools across Purdue.
During this eight-week summer program, you’ll have the opportunity to conduct intensive research with faculty mentors. Open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or DACA recipients who are interested in M.S. or PhD programs. Underrepresented minority students, including but not limited to African-American, Hispanic American and Native American, are particulary encouraged to apply.
Participants will be selected on the basis of their interest in pursuing a graduate degree, relevant college coursework and grades, letters of recommendation, and their ability to contribute to the goal of the program.
