Program Description

LSAMP supports sustained and comprehensive approaches that facilitate achievement of the long-term goal of increasing the number of students who earn doctorates, particularly those from populations underrepresented in STEM fields.

LSAMP

The Purdue Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) program is currently being supported by The Graduate School.

The overarching goal of LSAMP is to broaden the capacity of undergraduate students, especially from disadvantaged or underrepresented groups who:

  • Graduate with degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
  • Enter graduate programs in STEM disciplines.
  • Enter the workforce in STEM careers.

Some of the benefits of participation in LSAMP include:

  • Cutting-edge research projects.
  • Supportive programs.
  • Critical thinking and learning workshops.
  • Financial support.
  • Attend and present research at conferences.
  • Prepare for graduate school: academic testing.
  • Mentor programs.
  • Peer academic coaching.
