The Graduate School Advance to a Higher Degree

Graduate Student Housing

Purdue University is located in West Lafayette, Indiana. West Lafayette and its neighboring city Lafayette boast a low cost of living. This makes finding housing on a graduate stipend/paycheck easier.

Purdue's Off-Campus Housing division maintains a Landlord and Property survey for your use.  Please note that this direct student feedback is provided as a service, and does not reflect the opinions of Purdue University.

On-Campus Housing

Purdue offers a few on-campus housing options for graduate students. On-campus housing is very popular so be sure to apply early. Visit the following Web sites for more information:

  • Purdue Village: Apartment-style campus housing for students with families. Two single same-sex graduate students can also share a furnished one-bedroom apartment. Roommate matching is available. Students from over 60 countries call Purdue Village home. This diversity creates an exciting global community in which to live, work, and learn. Purdue Village is easily accessible to campus and shopping. The apartments are located on the southwest side of campus and include a setting with yard space, mature trees, and playgrounds. Many apartment complexes are located on city bus routes. City Bus is free to students and employees carrying their Purdue identification card. Remember to check potential bus schedules to see if they match your graduate student schedule.
