State Relations
With a presence in every county, Purdue University plays an important role in the growth of the state of Indiana. Boilermakers make a positive impact to the state every day — educating the next generation of scientists and engineers, addressing major issues through our Purdue Extension educators, and assisting in economic development activities. Purdue is woven into the lives of all Hoosiers.
Our state government relations team represents the University before the Indiana General Assembly and state government officials as one of the nation's premier academic institutions and an important contributor to the Indiana economy.
The state government relations team maintains a continuous flow of information between Purdue and state government entities. Activities include:
- Monitoring and affecting legislation of interest to the University.
- Coordinating University-related contacts with elected officials and staff.
- Working with the Indiana Commission for Higher Education.
- Responding to requests for information from the legislature and executive branch.
