Alternatives to Visiting Campus

Due to concerns around the COVID-19 pandemic and following guidance from federal and state public health officials, Purdue University has announced that all on-campus events are canceled through June 30.

The Office of Future Engineers is committed to doing everything that we can to find alternatives for students wishing to learn more about our campus and our programs to still be able to connect with us, which you will find below. We will update this page continuously in the coming days as we add more virtual events and opportunities.

Introducing Purdue Engineering
Tuesday, May 26, 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Eastern

Introducing Purdue Engineering will be a special, live broadcast for high school freshmen through juniors looking to learn more about what it actually means to be a Purdue Engineer. Learn about each of the 17 engineering majors offered at Purdue, including research and professional opportunities, and hear from current undergraduate engineering students who will share their experiences and insights. Following the presentation, we will have an open Q&A for our viewers to ask questions.

Connect with Current Students in PSEF

Would you like to learn about Purdue from a student's perspective? Reach out to a member of the Purdue Student Engineering Foundation (PSEF). These are current undergraduate engineering students studying at Purdue from across the United States and around the world. Check out their profiles to learn about their experiences, and then reach out to one of them using their contact form. They can be a direct resource for you as questions arise about being an engineering student. PSEFers love being Boilermakers but will also “tell it like it is,” as they want you to see the whole picture here and help you find the best college fit no matter where that may be!

Admitted Students

Engineering Live was a series of live YouTube broadcasts specifically for our admitted students and their families to learn more about the programs, students, faculty and staff of Purdue Engineering. Each broadcast focused around a different topic and featured a panel of current students, staff, and/or faculty from across Purdue's campus to share their insights and answer viewers' questions on the air.

All of the Engineering Live broadcasts have already aired, but the recordings of each of them are available on our YouTube channel for you to view on your own time! Be sure to check out the video description, as we put in timestamps of all the topics and questions covered so that you can skip around the video to what you want to know.

Virtual Purdue's for Me - College of Engineering Edition
Aired on Monday, April 6 at 2 p.m. Eastern

The Purdue's for Me days are among our most favorite events for admitted students to learn more about all the opportunities and resources that Purdue and the College of Engineering provide, so when we learned we'd have to cancel the remaining events this year, we resolved to find a way to still bring the spirit of that event to everyone no matter where they are.

Amy Glenn, the Associate Director of the Office of Future Engineers, provided an interactive presentation about Purdue Engineering and what makes our programs special. We then followed it up with a Q&A session with students, staff, and faculty of Purdue Engineering

You can view the recording of the live event, complete with timestamps in the description for easier viewing, on our YouTube channel.

Connect with Current Students and Admitted Students in Slack

We've created a Slack workspace just for Purdue Engineering students - both current and admitted - to interact, ask questions, find roommates, and get to know each other! Not sure what Slack is? No problem! We've compiled a handy guide for you to get started.
