the width of the container is unknown yet you can only answer in d,b,g and p? is there a way to get the width?
b is the dimension into the page, which is synonymous to the width
The question asks for the height required for the gate to open. The way I see this problem is that we don’t need to solve for the reaction forces at A and C in order to solve for the height H as the equivalent force of the water pressure times area should be above C in order for the water gate to open. Am I missing something in order to solve for H?
