I found it very helpful to re-watch the sample problem he did in class on for this one. It's super easy to make a silly mistake early on so make sure you're sure of what you're doing or else having to redo the cross products is going to be annoying.
I agree. It is also important to know the reaction forces and moments that come into play for the different types of mechanical devices that were discussed in lecture. I feel like the most tedious part is making sure you draw/label the free body diagram correctly. After that, the math is relatively straightforward.
For the hinges the reaction forces unless asked for are considered to be zero right since the cancel out eachother. As well as the value of the force F is what we include in the cross product to find moment about the point right?
has anyone else gotten the same answer as the video for the example? I saw a comment saying the video was incorrect and I also got a different answer so I just wanted to check
