The association is pleased to acknowledge &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swst.org\/wp\/careers\/women-ambassadors-creating-the-future-of-wood-science\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Women Ambassadors Creating the Future of Wood Science<\/a>,&#8221; a SWST-sponsored traveling exhibition designed to\u00a0celebrate women ambassadors over time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/fnr\/extension\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/ehaviar.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-16812 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/fnr\/extension\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/ehaviar-166x200.jpg\" alt=\"Eva Haviarova\" width=\"166\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/ag.purdue.edu\/department\/fnr\/directory.html#\/ehaviar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Eva Haviarova<\/a>, professor of wood products in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ag.purdue.edu\/department\/fnr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Purdue Department of Forestry and Natural Resources<\/a>, is among 16 ambassadors that were announced on February 11,\u00a02022, as part of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.womeninscienceday.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Day of Women and Girls in Science<\/a>\u00a0celebration.<\/p>\n<p>The first exhibition of Women Ambassadors will take place during the\u00a02022 SWST International Convention\u00a0in Kingscliff, Australia, July 10-16. The display will be unveiled at the convention&#8217;s opening ceremony and reception and will continue to be highlighted during the week. The exhibition will then travel around the world, including a stop at the 2023 SWST International Convention in Asheville, North Carolina. Information from the display also will be available for downloading and printing at individual institutions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Being recognized and selected as an ambassador for the wood science field among other very accomplished women on a global scale is a great honor,&#8221; Haviarova said. &#8220;I am at a point in my career where I feel that I can inspire others and fulfill an important mentor role.
