Event Details

All levels of government and organizations are facing financial crises, which have an impact on tree managers, the urban forest, and the overall risk management plan. However, safety is still the number one concern with trees and people. The priority is to reduce tree risk to an acceptable level for your property or site.

The course materials are based upon the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) A300 Part 9a Tree Risk Assessment and the International Society of Arboriculture Tree Risk Assessment Best Management Practices.

The Training Course Will Focus on the Following Outcomes:

  • Understand the tree risk assessment process and how it fits into the overall risk management plan.
  • Understand acceptable level of risk and basic responsibility of landholders.
  • Recognize basic defects and structural problems in trees, which can increase likelihood of failure.
  • Identify targets and their importance in tree risk assessment.
  • Recognize how site influences affect the potential of tree failures.
  • Understand risk categorization, risk ratings and the mitigation process.
  • Communicating and reporting risk.
  • Identify when to consult a professional arborist qualified in tree risk assessment.

Added Benefit!
