003779-2017 - Continuing Lecturer 

The School of Engineering Technology at Purdue University has a full-time opening at its West Lafayette, Indiana Campus, beginning no later than January 2018. This position is for a Continuing Lecturer.

Principal Duties

The School of Engineering Technology has a common freshman entry course to welcome students to our transformed curricula. This experiential course includes both lecture and lab environments. The lecturer position will help teach these important courses to large cohorts of students by acting as instructor and project manager.

Real world integrative capstone experiences are fundamental to all programs in the School, and the desire for interdisciplinary teams is growing throughout the College.  This Continuing Lecturer is expected to work with the Capstone Program Manager to maintain relationships with industry sponsors by acting as project manager and technical lead for multiple year-long capstone projects.

Candidates with strong interest in teaching and learning innovation are highly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

The Continuing Lecturer of Capstone Projects position is a 10-month position, with renewal contracts. A successful candidate for this position will be expected to interact with students at the undergraduate level, work collaboratively with faculty and industry team mentors, interface with learning innovators, and maintain technical competency.  Applicants must have at least a M.S. degree in a relevant Engineering Technology, or Engineering or closely related discipline, with a PhD desirable. Industrial experience, especially technical project management experience, is highly valued for this position.  Candidates must demonstrate the potential to teach undergraduate courses and the ability or potential to quickly advance their teaching effectiveness.
