Continuing Lecturer of Dance in the Patti & Rusty Rueff School of Visual and Performing Arts

Full-Time and Non-Tenure Track

Start date – August 13, 2018



$40,000 – 45,000. per academic year, depending on qualifications.  Eligible to receive medical benefits and upon a three year waiting period retirement benefits will apply.



Teach up to four undergraduate classes per semester in the Division of Dance program:  Upper levels of Modern dance technique, Dance Composition; and/or an ability to teach beginning and intermediate levels of Jazz and Ballet.  Choreograph mainstage and informal dance works and assist in production responsibilities.  The position requires participation in usual school activities and serve on school committees as assigned.



M.F.A in Dance required.  Ability to teach all levels of Modern Dance technique, Dance Composition and beginning/intermediate ballet and jazz.  Prior university teaching preferred. Professional practice strongly desired.  Demonstrates excellence in contemporary dance choreography.  Experience in new media and interactive performance art technology desirable.









The Division of Dance offers an undergraduate minor in dance. The Division of Dance consistently educates approximately 365 students each semester and has 38 dance minors.  It is one of the divisions in The Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Visual and Performing Arts. The Division of Dance has two faculty and three (4) half-time continuing lecturers.  The department is housed in a 48 million sq. ft. complex, which includes two (2) 2400 sq. ft. dance studios with sprung floors, one studio coverts into 100 seat lab theatre.  To learn more about the Division of Dance at Purdue, visit:
