003741-2017 - Assistant/Associate Professor in Public Health 

The Department of Health & Kinesiology at Purdue University seeks applicants for a tenure track faculty position in Public Health.

Position: Academic year appointment.  The position will be available August 13, 2018.

Rank: Assistant or Associate Professor

Responsibilities: An independent line of research with potential for attracting extramural funding is expected at the assistant level, and evidence of extramural funding is expected at the associate level. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to and expand our nationally recognized program through grantsmanship, scholarly publications, teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs, advising graduate students, and serving on departmental, college and/or university committees.

Qualifications: A doctoral degree in public health (broadly defined) or related field and appropriate (2+ years) postdoctoral experience is required. Evidence of scholarship in health disparities, prevention of health risk behaviors (e.g., substance use, sexual and reproductive risk) and/or health promotion (e.g., physical activity) is preferred.

Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications of the applicant.

Department: The Department of Health & Kinesiology is one of nine units in the College of Health & Human Sciences and is home to over 700 undergraduate students and 70 graduate students. The Department of Health & Kinesiology offers an undergraduate public health major and an MS & PhD program.
