While pursuing his degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Clinical Exercise Physiology, Jackson also earned a Minor in Psychology and the Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation—a combination that would later prove transformative.

Now in his second year as a Doctor of Physical Therapy student at the Mayo Clinic, Jackson continues to blend science, compassion, and creativity into everything he does. But his path wasn’t always so clear.

After sustaining a serious injury as a student-athlete, Jackson experienced not only the physical toll of recovery, but the emotional and mental strain of identity loss—a challenge familiar to many athletes. A pivotal encounter with a thoughtful and empathetic physical therapist during his recovery sparked something new: a deep interest in mental resilience and psychological well-being. This therapist inspired him to pursue deeper studies into psychology alongside his clinical studies.

Like many Purdue students, Jackson juggled a full plate—academics, multiple jobs, and campus involvement. One evening, feeling the weight of it all, he sat down in the library and developed a simple strategy to manage the chaos: set three priorities each day, track his progress, and reflect on accomplishments. What started as a personal productivity system evolved into something bigger: Daily Betterment, a mobile app designed to help users build structure, reduce stress, and cultivate positive habits.

Despite having no prior coding experience, Jackson taught himself app development, enduring 20 rejections from Apple’s App Store before his app was finally approved on the 21st try. He credits Purdue’s entrepreneurship certificate program for giving him the tools—and the mindset—to keep going.

“The program taught me how to fail forward. Every obstacle became an opportunity to learn, adapt, and keep building.”

Daily Betterment, now available on iOS, continues to grow through grassroots marketing, social media outreach, word-of-mouth, and authentic community-building. It’s more than a productivity tool; it’s a platform rooted in empathy, resilience, and self-improvement. Looking ahead, Jackson plans to integrate technology, psychology, and physical therapy in innovative ways that empower others. And for him, Daily Betterment is just the beginning.

[32,51,137

post-12591","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news-stories","category-newsletter","category-s-25-newsletter-highlights-4
["GET
