The National Weather Service, in conjunction with the\u00a0Indiana State Police<\/strong><\/a>, the\u00a0Indiana Department of Homeland Security<\/strong><\/a>, the\u00a0Indiana\u00a0Department of Education<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0the\u00a0Indiana Broadcasters\u00a0Association<\/strong><\/a>, the\u00a0American Red Cross<\/a>, <\/strong>and\u00a0Amateur Radio Operators<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0will conduct a statewide test of communication systems on Tuesday, March 15\u00a0at 10:15 AM EDT\/9:15 AM CDT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Important<\/strong>\u00a0– while the drill will be sent using live TOR EAS coding (Tornado Warning),\u00a0it is only a test<\/u><\/strong>, and will be postponed to Wednesday, March 16\u00a0if weather conditions warrant.\u00a0 (NWS Wilmington, OH will send the test for their Indiana counties using the RWT coding, per an agreement with their Cincinnati broadcast market partners)<\/p>\n\n\n\n As part of NWS efforts to build a\u00a0Weather Ready Nation<\/strong><\/a>, the goal of Severe Weather Preparedness Week is to better educate people about the hazards of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes, and to help everyone be prepared\u00a0when severe weather occurs.
