Floods are one of the most common weather-related disasters in Indiana and throughout the U.S.\u00a0 Many communities suffer tremendous property damage, or much worse, loss of life due to flooding issues each year.<\/p>\n

INPREPared has assembled resources that Extension Educators, media, and others can use to quickly prepare news releases, PSA’s, and other outreach when flooding is likely or has already occurred.<\/p>\n

Among these resources are several PREPnotes that relate directly to flood-related issues.\u00a0 PREPnotes download in MS Word format, so that educators or others can quickly adapt them for customized news releases, or the contents can be shared on social media or other outlets.<\/p>\n

We have also included additional flood-related resources INPREPared and Purdue Extension, as well as other sources.<\/p>\n

NEW RESOURCES:\u00a0 Volunteer Safety & Management<\/strong><\/p>\n

A big challenge for emergency managers is ensuring the safety of volunteers assisting with cleanup in the aftermath of a storm event. Unfortunately, more people can be hurt in the aftermath of a flood than during the actual event. These resources can be used by Extension Educators and community organizations to organize and train youth or adult volunteers, increasing the safety and effectiveness of their efforts.<\/em><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\"Image\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t
