Welcome to the Purdue University Office of Engagement Website! It is our vision that Purdue University will be the benchmark institution among major research universities worldwide for public engagement that effectively leverages the University’s assets to advance the economy and quality of life. Our engagement efforts will span the state, nation and globe, with stakeholders being state and federal governments, students, faculty, staff, alumni, private sector and the community at large.  We expect to be the exemplar for faculty recognition and advancement based on the scholarship of engagement, and by honoring emerging faculty, staff and community partners accomplishments that continue the university engagement mission making this the place for university engagement.

We're all about connections. Consistent with our mission and strategic plan, the Office of Engagement links Purdue's diverse resources with areas of opportunity across Indiana, the nation and the world. We partner with stakeholders to address issues affecting the prosperity and quality of life for people living in Indiana and across the globe.

Purdue is among elite universities across the country that have been designated an Innovation and Economic Prosperity University by the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities. The designation recognizes our work with public- and private-sector partners to support economic development. In addition, Purdue University has earned the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching Elective Community Engagement Classification. We are pleased to have received APLU’s 2016 award for Innovation as part of the Innovation and Economic Prosperity University program.  Purdue was the recipient of a W.K. Kellogg Foundation Engagement Award in 2014 (Purdue Pharmacy Kenya Program), 2016 (Military Family Research Institute Star Behavioral Health Providers Program), and 2017(EPICS).  Each of these is a clear indicator our engagement efforts provide benefit to Purdue University and its partners, the essence of an engaged land-grant university.
