Re:           Jon Harbor to become executive vice president and provost of University of Montana

After 24 years at Purdue, including the last three as associate vice provost and director of digital education, Jon Harbor is leaving Purdue to become the executive vice president and provost at the University of Montana, effective August 1.

Jon, who is a professor in the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences, has previously served Purdue as department head; founding/interim director of the Global Sustainability Institute; associate vice president for research, interim dean and associate dean for research and graduate education in the College of Science; and founding co-director of the Discovery Learning Research Center.

Jon’s positive attitude and wide-ranging contributions to the Purdue community will be missed. Please join me in wishing him great success in his new role.

Plans for filling this position will be announced in the near future.
