Temporary Pause on SAP Activities

Re:       Temporary Pause on SAP Activities

I wanted to update you on a temporary pause for processing certain activities within SAP to enable a smooth conversion of data, finalization of the design of the Job Family Structure and the deployment of SuccessFactors, all critical elements as we go-live in April, 2018 with the Human Capital Management module of the overall Transformation Project.

 

Activities that are not impacted by the pause include:

  • Posting of new positions or existing positions
  • Submission of new organizational units and corresponding cost centers

 

With respect to reorganizations, you may reorganize your operations during this time.  Following go-live, any formal changes will be made to SAP, workflow and financial reporting to reflect these operational changes.

 

The following specific tasks will be temporally paused as of November 1, with changes to be processed once the new system is live and stable, set for July 1:

  • Position reclassifications and revisions to position descriptions (submitted when there has been a substantial and permanent change in an employee’s job duties, job complexity and/or knowledge and skills required in the position);
  • Desk audits of positions (detailed assessments where an incumbent describes the responsibilities of his/her position and provides illustrative examples of work to a compensation specialist to obtain information about his/her duties and responsibilities); and
  • Reorganizations processed through SAP (moving or re-creating organizational units as well as closing/re-creating cost centers).

 

This pause will enable the individuals that support these activities to remain fully engaged in the process of simplifying and automating the processes and system to enable these and all future HCM activities to be simpler and more efficient.
