The College of Engineering dean search has successfully concluded.  This morning I notified everyone in the College and also announced in Purdue Today that, effective July 1, Dr. Mung Chiang from Princeton University will be the next dean of the College of Engineering.  I am confident that he will be an outstanding dean and will build on the decade of success the College has enjoyed under Leah Jamieson’s admirable leadership.

I write to thank you all for participating in the search process.  This is a critical one for the University, particularly at a time when significant investments are being made in the College of Engineering.  New and emerging areas of scholarship offer immense potential for us to enhance its excellence and continue its rise in reputation.
