SUBJECT:       Provost Fellow Appointment

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Marston William as a Provost Fellow for 2015-2016. The Provost Fellows program was launched to provide faculty who have an interest and potential in university administration with opportunities to gain a general overview of the Provost’s office including academic planning, budgets, shared governance, governmental relations, Board of Trustees meetings, strategic planning, research on faculty issues and student programs. Provost Fellows also participate in discussions about the challenges of higher education, the 21st century university, the changing professoriate, the changing student body, and the changing nature of teaching, learning, and scholarship. Professor William will provide assistance to the faculty affairs team, working on various projects including improving the process of nominating faculty for national and international awards.

Professor William holds a PhD in German Literature from Ohio State University and is currently Associate Professor and Assistant Head of the School of Languages and Cultures at Purdue.

She will join the Office of the Provost in January 2015.
